The Fastest Way from Seattle to Whistler
Seattle to Whistler
Vancouver Bypass
When traveling north on I5 in Washington state take the very
last exit before the Canadian border. Travel inland a couple of
miles until you reach the Pacific Border Crossing (do not cross
at the Peace Arch Border Crossing). Cross into Canada at the Pacific
Border Crossing and proceed due north on Highway 15, about 15
miles, until you intersect with Route 1, the Trans Canada Highway
(do not take Route 1A). Take Route 1 left, or west. Route 1 will
take you around the edge of Vancouver and across North Vancouver
and West Vancouver. At Horseshoe Bay (a major ferry terminal),
Route 1 turns into Highway 99 North, the road to Whistler.
From Horseshoe Bay you are about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Whistler.
The first half, from Horseshoe Bay to Squamish is a beautiful
drive along Howe Sound. The second half climbs inland into the
Coastal Mountain Range, home of Whistler & Blackcomb Mountains.
Lots of highway signage. Just follow Hwy 99 all the way.
When you first get to Whistler, the third traffic light you
come to is Lake Placid Road. There is a Husky gas station on the
corner. Turn left here. The Whistler Resort & Club is about
1 1/2 blocks off the highway at 2129 Lake Placid Road, on the
right hand side. At the street front is Hoz’s neighbourhood
pub and the Creekside Grillroom. Pull into our parking lot and
come in to the front desk.
